Diversity Training Tier I

Basic training

You will learn that human connection is the building block of culture. It allows you to sympathise with anybody (even if you don't agree with each other)

Diversity Training Tier I

Who benefits from this training?

Diversity Training Tier I is for anybody who works in a multicultural environment, and would like to invest in their cultural competency. Tier I mostly explores the dynamics of the multicultural environment on individual and team levels.

What will you learn?

  • Delivering documentation at a certain quality or level of detail

  • Speaking up and being heard

These issues are indicative of cultural differences and with the right training can be easily overcome.

Diversity Training Tier I exposes the pressure points in intercultural conversations and cooperation. It helps you to coordinate your everyday work with peers and customers coming from different cultures. It demonstrates how cultural diversity affects the different layers of organisations, as well as professional relationships in general.

After attending Diversity Training Tier I, you will understand:

  • Human connection and cooperation in a multicultural context
  • How to build and use cultural competency
  • What we mean by culture
  • How to view, analyse and resolve cultural conflicts
  • How the levels of culture and cultural groups influence cultural cooperation and conflicts

Format

The Mindful Generation Diversity Training Tier I is a fun and engaging way to learn about cultural diversity, involving you from the moment you signed up. The case studies, exercises and explanations are personalized based on an intake call or survey beforehand.

During our training we follow interactive storyline-based exercises and case studies based on the course material. Additionally, we reserve enough time to dive into some of your own questions and interests.

The training is conversational and interactive, designed to involve you giving you directly applicable knowledge in the "here and now".

Practical Information

The training is held either at a physical location, or online. In case of a physical meeting, it will take a full day, including lunch break. In case of an online meeting, we advise splitting the training into two 3.5 hours sessions, to prevent fatigue.

The maximum group size is 12 participants (both for physical and online training).

No specific prior knowledge is required to enter the training. Anybody with an open mind can join, regardless of their cultural competency or other interpersonal skills.

Diversity Training Tier II

Who benefits from this training?

Diversity Training Tier II is for managers and company leaders who manage a multicultural team or company, and would like to embed cultural competency more deeply into their strategy and operations. Tier II mostly explores the dynamics of the multicultural environment on organisational and strategic levels.

What will you learn?

When managing a culturally diverse team of professionals, you might find that it's difficult to:

  • Establish the right kind of leadership style

Diversity Training Tier II exposes the pressure points in intercultural conversations and cooperation at scale. It helps you coordinate your everyday work with peers and customers coming from different cultures. It allows you to leverage the multicultural nature of your team and company, turning it into a strength and competitive advantage.

After attending Diversity Training Tier II, you will understand:

  • How cultural diversity affects the different layers of organisations differently
  • How cultural diversity affects professional relationships in general
  • How to address different audiences appropriately and effectively
  • How to display leadership in different cultures
  • How to recognise and mediate conflicts arising from cultural differences at any organisational level
  • How remote work and online communication pose unique challenges in a multicultural environment, and how to overcome them
  • How to stimulate more effective communication, increasing productivity and happiness across the organisation
  • How you can transform your organisation such that cultural competency becomes part of its DNA

Concepts

During the training we will continue working with the concepts of Tier I, focusing on how they apply to the organisation as a whole, rather than on the interpersonal level.

Diversity Coaching

Mindful Generation provides one-on-one coaching for those who would like to deepen their cultural knowledge through a personal journey. The coaching is offered from beginning to advanced levels of cultural competence.

How does it work?

Diversity Coaching, much like the Diversity Training programmes, is practical, conversational and exercise/case study based.

Learning with us, you will follow your personal trajectory, using these steps:

  1. Intake — we discuss your wishes, challenges, your areas of exploration and expertise, and most importantly, how we can help you to further build your knowledge
  2. Personal development plan — we set goals and objectives to make sure you learn exactly what you need
  3. Coaching sessions — a number of sessions, during which we use the personal development plan as a guide
  4. Follow up — Approximately six weeks after your last session we will be in touch to check how your new knowledge worked out in practice, and we will reflect on the things you learned

We determine the number of sessions, and their frequency, in agreement. In between sessions you will have time to apply your knew knowledge, and in each session we can evaluate the intermediate results.
